Mourik Industry strengthens its position in the energy transition with the acquisition of GPW Turbine Support B.V.
Mourik Industry has acquired GPW Turbine Support B.V., a Hellevoetsluis-based company specializing in rotating equipment and torque and tensioning techniques. This strategic move strengthens Mourik’s position in the energy market and accelerates its growth ambitions within the energy transition.
Trust and growth
Jeroen Maan, director of Mourik Industry, explains: “The acquisition of GPW Turbine Support B.V. aligns well with our ambition to strengthen our role in the energy transition. This acquisition adds a key specialty to our portfolio. GPW enjoys an excellent reputation in the market and will continue to operate under its own name. We are pleased and proud that the current owners have confidence that GPW and its employees are in good hands with Mourik.”
Willem de Gier, director of GPW Turbine Support, adds: “We see Mourik as a reliable partner who aligns well with our organizational culture and growth ambitions. We’ve been working together successfully on various contracts for years. I’m convinced that as part of Mourik, we can create even more value for both our employees and our customers.”
New market, enhanced competencies
With this acquisition, Mourik Industry enters a new market segment within the energy sector, including (gas) turbines and compressors, and strengthens its technical capabilities. Demand for rotating equipment services is steadily increasing due to its growing share in new installations, the conversion of gas turbines to hydrogen, and the growing need for compressor services for hydrogen and ammonia, among other applications. GPW’s decades of experience in these areas provides Mourik with valuable knowledge and expertise.
Together with GPW Turbine Support, we continue to build an organization that is ready for the future and continues to grow sustainably!
